Includes RV Sensors for Peak Performance
This 10TB model includes Rotational Vibration (RV) sensors. In a multi-bay NAS (like a 4-bay or 8-bay), vibration from other drives can kill performance. These sensors detect and counteract that vibration, ensuring your drives stay fast and reliable, even under heavy load.
The CMR Advantage: Built for RAID
This is the most important feature for a NAS. This IronWolf drive uses Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR), not SMR. This is essential for a multi-drive RAID array. CMR drives can be written to randomly without a performance hit, making them fast and reliable when rebuilding a RAID array. (SMR drives are not suitable and can fail during a rebuild).
